LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION

[APOLOGIES FOR THE LATE REVIEW] - if you are looking for a quiet / private / very comfortable 'place to lay your head' in san ignacio (belize) then look no further than this clean / safe abode = 400 meters from the town center = fresh filtered H2O / coffee / tea and basic 'pots 'n' pans are available in house [inc a fridge] & quality locks / screens provide good security = the rooftop terrace is managed by a local lad who knows 'a thing or two' about cocktail ratios & you can get the all the info you need re: eateries / tours / transportation / etc from there.
PS: Highly recommended is the drink we called 'SIN NOMBRE' - i hope you 'get it' !!
PPS: if you want to visit the 400 AD mayan site of caracol = the MAYAWALK TOURS 6hr excursion was well organized / informative / comfortable & the after tour food 'hit the spot' {inc the rum punch !! } = swim togs / gear are recommended for the 'pool'.

Bed bugs! Be aware!!!

Bed bugs stay away!
I walked in and the pictures look nothing like the "hotel" its more like someones house that they rent out rooms. No maid service. As soon as i checked in i reported aloud buzzing noise from my room- and i was told they were working on a solution- no solution- ever came the noise came from the ice makers (they sell ice) ans the noise didnt go away the whole stay even after reporting it many times.
I also found a bed bug in the room and told the owner of the hotel and she did not care. I would suggest you look elsewhere.

After thoroughly investigating your concerns, we didn't hear any loud noise as you claimed and we couldn't find a mattress that matched your picture in the room you stayed in or any other room. Great place to stay!!!

Awesome stay with awesome folks!!! This place has all you need for a fabulous stay and is a wonderful home base for all your adventures around the San Ignacio area. Shamira and Elvin are terrific hosts and most accommodating! They will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is terrific!

Best guesthouse in San Ignacio

This was a terrific find! It was a good sized space (for our group of 4 we had the apartment which had three beds, two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchenette, and patio). The bedrooms had much-appreciated AC units. Bottled water was provided, as were clothes pins/a clothesline for drying out wet clothes outside. The wifi was also good and reliable. The place was clean and our hostess very friendly and helpful. There is also a hot sauce tasting offered on the roof, which we didn't do but would've loved to try if we'd had more time. It was something like 31 different sauce tastings for I think $10, but don't quote me on that. You can also buy bottles of hot sauce there, and they serve beer.
It's also very central, located just a few minutes walk to a number of tour operators and/or great restaurants. There are TVs in both bedrooms with netflix access, and the provided fridge is VERY cold. There are some noises you'll hear from outside, like dogs, and San Ignacio gets a little rowdy with music on the weekends, but this is minimal and you'd probably hear it from just about anywhere. Highly recommend staying here.

Belize Adventure

Found our 4 day stay in San Ignacio a welcoming place. From the day we arrived Charlene(?) was there making sure we had what we needed. Fresh water for drinking was available. The beds are comfortable and we spent alot of time on the private patio outside our room.
Each of the bedrooms has air conditioning, we only used one room.
We especially enjoyed our evening on the rooftop chatting with Charlene about her plans for expansion and how they fared during covid.
Alll of Belize seems to be doing construction of some sort. There are so many restaurants and markets close by also. Definitely check this place out for your stay in San Ignacio.
