Beautiful hotel with lots of outside space

The hotel covers a large area with individual chalets with their own outside seating area, and a large bar and restaurant area around the pool. Most of the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The best place to stay in Gaborone

Well they deserve 100 Stars!! Big 5 management and all staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This place is not just a lodge, it is a place where people have compassion and will look after you irrespective the conditions. Thank you for serving the nation during this difficult time! Failed to live up to expectations.

This lodge certainly has a lot to offer and could be five star with proper management and maintenance. However the rooms are in dire need of some freshening up and the bathroom was a disaster, towel rail lying on the floor , shower drain blocked (flooded the bathroom). Toilet not flushing properly. We had to request towels and toilet paper as none were in the room on arrival. The bar and pool area were once spectacular but now the water is green and unappealing. The pub has very limited stock and no wine was available. The restaurant service was rather slow and although our meals wer ok they were not great. Breakfast was not too bad.

Kids Visit to the Pool

Started using the Big 5 in 2006. Then the resort was new and we loved it. Have since used the placed everytime we visit Gaborone and Mogoditshane. The Big 5 lost with a lack of maintenance and I have seen the place deteriorate as a result. Today was the worst service experienc with a not so busy kitchen taking forever to serve a simple plate of chips. Will start to vote with my money with this place. Very dad indeed as the place has potential.

good value for money

we have stayed at the big five 3 times now in the chalets. the chalets are adequate with brilliant air con, clean, comfortable beds. the pool is brilliant although better maintenance is needed. the pool is open to non residents for a minimal charge so becomes overcrowded and noisy at weekends, this place could be much improved with staff training , the breakfast is the same everyday, and you never get exactly what you order !, having said that i would not hesitate to stay here
