The closest place of Eden Garden you will find on Earth
Clara Resort is one of our favorite places on vacation, due to broad spectrum of leisure, both indoors and outdoors, excellent gastronomy and well-being.
Targeted public: Who should go? Families with children and/or pets, to take advantage of holidays or on vacation. There are special facilities to provide everything parents with babies need, as well. It is not the place for couples seeking romantic moments. Go to Gonçalves-Minas Gerais instead.
Location: Less than 1-hour (by car) from Sao Paulo; it has a quick access via Rodovia Castelo Branco, which is very safe. Arriving at Ibiúna, some improvement on local roads could be well received. Once entering the resort, one feels like being on Eden Garden. The place is very safe, impeccable on its details and has comfort perfectly integrated with nature. 9 out of 10
Reception: Is the so-so link on the chain. The staff is attentive, and shows goodwill, although the rush-rush of check-ins and check-out might put the good mood at risk. For instance, I tried to talk to them by phone, for 3 days in a row without anybody responding to my requests or at least returning the call. Expect better treatment in-person than from the room. 7 out of 10
Activities: Full-day activities for adults and for children are expected. Thus, no matter which is your personal style, Clara has always some tricks under its sleeves. For those more pro-fit, pro-sport, unquiet, let us say, more prone to thrills, there are Tirolesa-Russa, quadricycles off-road journeys, aquatic skiing, wakeboard, aquatic electric-foil and aquatic floats/tubes. Staff from the Nautic/Marina, from off-road explorations (Mister Diego) and from Adventurer´s Club are absolute precise and attentive. Cheers to them all! Congrats! Staff of Children Monitors (Monitores), who take very seriously how the agenda is designed for fun and entertainment, is also brilliant and proactive on taking the kids to their groups. They can even, if agreed with parents, take children back to the rooms, at the end of evening amusement. Special thanks to Tios Linguini, Rufles, Doritos, Goiaba, Pudim and Panda. Gym is also available for those who ate a pizza the night before, during very comprehensive hours. 10 out of 10
Transportation to and for the rooms: There are a few electric cars (golf cars) circulating all day long, to make the walk shorter and faster, upon request. We particularly preferred to walk, because the view of the mountains and the lake (represa) is absolute gorgeous and breath-taking. What a landscape! We only took a lift when the kids were exhausted. Mister Adam was our driver, a very young, dedicated and kind person. 8 out of 10
Gastronomy: Five meals are served a day, if I precise. It is an abundance of unbelievable types of food. Brazilian, Contemporary, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, you name it. The buffet might reach well over 50 different dishes at the buffet. The service is performed by very genuine and light-spirited people, such as Missis Lala. The chefs come out of the kitchen, often to meet and greet customers, which generally is a moment for compliments and suggestions. 10 out of 10
Facilities: The chambermaids are very polite and forthcoming. Tips are not mandatory, nevertheless, a gesture can make your stay even more satisfying and full of positive surprises. And they truly deserve it. 9 out of 10
Architecture/preservation: Rooms are clean, well-lit, spacious, with very inviting beds and bedlinen. The wooden parts are starting to show some wear over the years, as well as the electric outlets could benefit from being more integrated into the beds. The water fountain is a little bit out of sync with the mood, and very slow to fulfill a glass of water. Signs of modernity. Despite that, what drew my attention was the absolute lack of a desktop where I could write and read. There is no place amidst the entire hotel where you can sit on a chair, place a diary on a table and write under a yellow-light lamp. I am a lover of fountain pens, so I missed the opportunity of capturing my thoughts during the beautiful and memorable days I stayed there. There is one warmed indoor pool. External pools are climatized, but not warm. Bar service is amazing and you can think of any classical drink, you will eventually drink. 7 out of 10
Overall: We have been there five or six times, with twins, and we are planning to come back as soon as we could. Generally, we stay a week, so we can refill entirely our energy for facing again the routine of São Paulo. We know a good place upon leaving and instanteneously missing it. 8 out of 10.

There are so many things to do and the staff is just amazing. We went to the kids horse show and the trip there was so fun. The staff was jumping and singing and just made it a great time. Unfortunately, I don’t speak Portuguese so I did not understand any of it but my wife, stepdaughter and granddaughter did. we went rock climbing, and went to the amazing tree fort. We just got finished doing archery

I love it !!!!
This was an incredible experience, the teens club was wonderful with the night games being so elaborate and thrilling. The food and accommodations are also amazing.
