Razoável.
Small hotel with stairs to reach the reception and the rooms. The reception is open from 10:00. The room was small, with air conditioning and TV. Half spent carpet. A little mold smell. The worst is the bathroom, very small, is separated from the room by a sliding door with dim glass, which compromises privacy. The street is busy, but there are some street residents, mostly outside business hours. It is 1 km from Place Jacques Cartier, in a straight line.

The Bates Motel. Avoid!
The guy who owns the hotel Carson was very abusive towards me. They just want your money too.I've stayed here a number of times but the treatment keeps getting worse. Last time stayed I had booked a certain room and he confirmed it. When I arrived I was told I'm in another room. I wasn't told in advance. They lied and said there was no other room. This room had a mattress that felt like cement. They couldn't sleep on it. I'm sure this was done deliberately by Cardon. I checked the web and there were 2 rooms still available. So I told Carson and he said it's $150, $40 more than the other room. I felt I was being ripped off. There was nothing cheaper in town so I took the room. They decided to book it next day and it was Sunday so he lowered the rate to $90. Big difference from $150. Too big. I booked it anyway but not returning. Horrible service by this owner. He sounds ill. I was there as week earlier and he knocks on my door even though there was a do not disturb sign on it. He said he needed an hour to change the mattress. Bull! There was nothing wrong with it and it was not urgent. He's not going to start changing mattresses on my time. I paid for the room. So he laughs and leaves. What's so funny? Creepy weepy. This is the room that now has a cement mattress in it as I mentioned. Imagine treating a customer like that. The hotel is no big deal anyway. It needs repairs..There's no facecloths only towels. It's sad. Hard to shower. Some of the toilets are on a slant making it hard to sit down. It's awkward. Plus you have to step up to get into the bathroom. Also awkward. The sink is like a water fountain.I
I'm also worried the owner puts cameras in the rooms. One bathroom has a hole in the ceiling.! I asked him. No reply.

Horror hotel
First of all I never expected crazy luxury or anything like that. Just a bed and a shower that worked would have been fine with me. However both those things were not in order, the shower barely worked and only when I was holding the showerhead myself. The bed was way too static so every time I moved around there were sparks of electricity. The TV had a crack and only showed about 5 different channels. The chairs and other furniture looked as if they had been thrown around for a few hours before being placed in the room and I am pretty sure the last guest in the room was not there voluntarily seeing how many scratches and dents this room had. Now all these things can be forgiven if there was not also some strange liquid running down the walls. I did not ask what it was and to this day I rather not have that information. Also I believe the site said the rooms are soundproof, which clearly was a blatant lie as I was woken up at least three times by people screaming and falling over themselves in the lobby, a chair might have been thrown against some stuff as well as far as I could make out.
At check in the receptionist barely looked at me in his jogging pants and did not really speak any language I understood. When after the first horror night I tried to check out the next morning there simply was nobody in the hotel that I could find to do so. So I went into the city and came back the same afternoon to check out. This time a nice lady tried to help me but did not give me any options for getting money back for the second night that I booked. Next to this, she said I should have just grabbed a phone from behind the desk to call them, as if anybody ever does that. In conclusion every single aspect of this stay was wack and I strongly advise anybody to pay a few euros more and go to an actual hotel instead of this prison in disguise.
I completely forgot to review the place because my brain simply blocked the whole experience for a few months. Luckily I still have the pictures. Regardless of this both Booking and the hotel refused to even look into compensating me for this terrible, terrible, lazy, terrible experience.

To be avoided at all costs
The hotel bars its door and no longer responds in the early hours of the morning. So if you want to enjoy Montreal nightlife don't go there. If you want to sleep on the street, this is the place to go.

Very Good Photographs - DO NOT BE FOOLED
I cannot understand anyone’s suggestion that this is anything but an upgrade on a youth hostel, trying to pass itself as a hotel.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE, NOTE THE OFFICIAL CLASSIFICATION, AS A 2* PROPERTY.
The second floor room was accessed through a dingy doorway, nailed down carpet and poorly maintained stairs, a room with no closet, a bathroom in the room, no amenities and all for $400/night.
Unfortunately the business partner, having immediately accepted our cancellation and full refund, then reneged on his promise when addressing it with booking.com.
The following day on contacting the owner, she agreed to a 50% refund and then even reneged on this!!
One of my worst experiences and nothing booking.com will do anything about.
