Good people

I made a mistake in the booking and had accidentally double booked. The owners of Down Home Accomodations were very understanding and although they charged me the full amount anyway, they refunded me the nights that they were able to rebook my reservation, which they didn't have to do. Thank you for such fair treatment and again, my apologies for the mix up.

Roomy Unit for a Few Days in Gros Morne

We had a two-bedroom unit, with comfortable beds, a nice living room and perfectly good kitchen. I was nice to have coffee handy in the kitchen for the morning. It was easy to find and the parking worked well. We had the unit away from the road, which was also nice. I appreciated the safe check-in, which worked well.
The one thing missing in this unit was shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. There was soap, but nothing else. Since everywhere else had shampoo, we just had to use soap to wash our hair. I didn’t want to buy a full bottle of shampoo and leave it or fly with it at the end of the vacation. The bathroom could use a updating, which the rest of the unit had already had.

Comfortable and basic

The cabin had two good size bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen that was minimally stocked. Comfortable for two couples.
Beds were on the soft side but had clean sheets and towels.
I would stay there again.

Self catering rooms

I'd agree with the previous review that this was a basic but comfortable place. We only spent a couple of nights here but after a week of eating out it was nice to be able to cook something and have a normal size portion. Didn't get a chance to use the BBQ though. The bed in our room was a bit creaky.

Basic, but comfortable, dwelling.

We booked for one night on our way to L'Anse aux Meadows. The apartment is one of two in a building. Upon arrival there was no one at the "office", but luckily she appeared a few minutes later. The apartment we chose - in the back - was very spacious. A large living room with a kitchen, and two small bedrooms. (In fact one small bedroom and one tiny bedroom). All in all it was a comfortable stay. The payment was a little over the proper value.
