Wonderful hospitality

We chose Refugio Explora Verde as we hoped to use this as a base to visit Chingaza NP. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the rugged nature of the terrain, so this was not really an option. Nonetheless, David and Claudia suggested various other options to see birdlife in the area, which we tried. Finally, on our last day, David offered to take us to Chingaza in his 4x4, which we considered an amazing offer. The four of us had a great outing, even if we did not make it all the way to Chingaza, which we now know to be a serious driving challenge over very rough roads. But this is a good example of the accommodating nature of this wonderful couple. They really are prepared to make your stay enjoyable.
The lodge is beautifully situated, like an eagle's nest, overlooking a vast valley. It very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the remoteness of the refuge. In addition, Claudia produced some lovely meals, which we really enjoyed.

A hidden gem

Refugio Explora Verde is a hidden gem 10 minutes from Choachí by car. There are 2 rooms in the main house, simply furnished but comfortable. Guests can use the living room which has a fire to keep warm at night and also the kitchen. The views from the verandah of the mountains and valley are spectacular. Finally, I cannot end this review without mentioning Claudia who was the perfect host and an authority on the area, especially if you like walking.

Tourist

We stayed at this wonderful quiet place for two nights. Claudia is a lovely host and an excellent cook and an expert advisor on the area. Staying at Refugio Explora Verde felt like winning in a lottery. We will not forget the beautiful vistas from the lounge and from our bedroom. Give yourself a gift and stay at Refugio Explora Verde!

Escapada mágica!

Excelente estadía!!!
Muy buen sitio para vivir la experiencia de la chorrera. Es un increíble lugar, vista maravillosa, comida muy rica y la mejor atención de David, Claudia y sus lindos perritos!!

Estadía perfecta

Lindo lugar, cuenta con una hermosa vista, la atención de todos excelente al igual que la comida, nuestra estadía fue perfecta, el clima es muy agradable, muy cerca de Bogotá.
Muy recomendado, regresaré.
