Great Hotel with Modern Amenities
We really enjoyed our recent stay. The hotel is very well maintained, with updated features and a comfortable, modern feel. It’s a bit of a walk to Gran Vía, so we opted to take taxis instead. We felt Madrid taxis were reasonably priced, making it an easy and convenient option.
One thing I particularly appreciated was the selection of bathroom amenities, including a toothbrush, comb, sewing kit, and other thoughtful extras. These are small touches that seem to be offered less and less at hotels and were a nice surprise.
As with many European hotels, the lighting in the room could be better—it was a little too dim for our liking. The hotel also has a good selection of restaurant and bar options, and there are several excellent choices just around the corner as well.
Overall, we had a very nice stay and would definitely stay here again. Shout out to the bellman, whose name I didn’t get, so welcoming and kind

Buyer beware.
Very unhappy with the stay. I was told this was a clean hotel but when staying there, there was an infestation of BED BUGS. This was reported to management but they chose to cover it up.

Very pleasant stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Emperatriz. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming throughout our stay. Most importantly, when one of us wasn’t feeling well one day, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The rooms were well-maintained and very clean. Breakfast was great with variety of options. The hotel is not walking distance to the main attractions but just a short taxi ride away. It is in a quieter area of Madrid, which I personally enjoyed.

Great location and the staff is very attentive. We had an issue with the air conditioner but they immediately fix it by giving us a beautiful and bigger room. I would for sure go back.
