Stay was a disaster.
"Ideal location, but the stay was a disaster." The breakfast is terrible and of very poor quality. The bathrooms are old and third-world; to make matters worse, there was no hot water for showering at midnight. A complete joke, I do not recommend it at all.

Terrible treatment, rude owner, and smelling of alcohol.
The owner was shouting at the receptionist when we arrived. She treated us poorly, very rude, questioning our reservation. It smelled of alcohol, and she kept repeating the same thing continuously.
Awful. Never to return again.

HORRIBLE
Horrible. The owner is rude, unpleasant, and ill-mannered. The only good thing about the place is the location; otherwise, it is outdated, there is no place to sit in the reception area, and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Very disappointing experience, the manager confronted me for politely mentioning the room issues and made me cry.
I very rarely write negative reviews but I felt I had a moral duty to write one. The hotel location and view from restaurant are wonderful but sadly check-in was extremely slow, with the receptionist repeatedly answering phone calls and helping others while I waited. After a long day on the Camino and feeling unwell, I finally reached my room only to find it smelled strongly of bleach. The shutters were stuck so I could not air the room out, the room phone didn't work so I could not call reception, and neither did the sockets. I reported the issues and was told someone would come within an hour. After waiting over 90 minutes, nobody arrived, so I had to go back downstairs despite being exhausted and sick.
The receptionist was initially understanding, but when the manager became involved, the situation turned unpleasant. I was questioned about why I hadn't called from my mobile phone, despite explaining it was dead and couldn't be charged because the sockets weren't working. The receptionist then told me I was 'wasting her time' and 'making her stay later and she wants to go home', and the manager became confrontational. I can speak some Spanish, and unfortunately I understood enough to know that the manager was speaking negatively about me to her colleagues while pointing in my direction and throwing her hands up. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. I was crying in the lobby. The two seats available said 'no sitting' on them so I was on the floor. I explained I was happy to take a free drink or snack as I was too tired and unwell to find new accommodation as they said they are fully booked (not true as I could see from booking.com) and others arrived after me booked on the spot.
The room issues were frustrating, but the way I was treated was far worse. I left feeling upset, unwelcome, and very disappointed by the lack of professionalism and customer service. I did indeed cancel and left the hotel. Kindness does not cost anything regardless of language barriers.
