Very nice discovery

A very nice discovery in a magnificent setting with a breathtaking view. The staff is lovely.

Inventive and delicate cuisine.

Basque farmhouse remarkably restored with many very qualitative details.
This restaurant crowns an estate made up of several dwelling houses and a wellness area, all lost in the high hills around Bidarray, boundary Labourd-Lower Navarre (50’ from Biarritz if you don’t get lost en route...).
Reduced map.
Most dishes are worth 2* Michelin.
In appetizers, among others, a fabulous oyster.
Unfortunately, many preparations are a little too accurate in quantity.
Thus, the stuffed morel is well isolated, and we regretted that she was not accompanied by one or two of her sisters...
Correct wine list (x2-3...) curiously poor in Spanish bottles...

It was a wonderful pleasure to stay at Auberge Ostape. Our only regret is that we only stayed two nights. It is hard to get to and incredibly worthwhile once you get there.
The staff is most gracious and the restaurant is extraordinary. We hope to return.

Detour to the Basque Country

Very nice hotel, heated infinity pool, sublime view.
Restaurant: avoid gastronomy, too expensive for small portions. Luckily the bread is divine.
Wine choose from known, unpleasant surprises can happen in this menu
