Great basic accommodation
I’ve stayed here three times and booked to return. It’s clean (cleaned daily apart from Sunday, towels and sheets regularly changed) it’s a great location, family owned who are kind and welcoming. Yes it’s basic but it’s great value for money. Every room has a fridge and balcony, en-suite loo and shower. Agreed there aren’t many plug sockets but it’s (more than) fine for what I want

Should not be called a hotel
We stayed at andavis (I won't call it a hotel) for 2 nights in September. It is by far the worst accommodation we have stayed in the 28 years we have been coming to kardamena. There is no kettle in the rooms,the towels were blue with huge white bleach marks on them, the sheets were ripped and threadbare and only a wardrobe to put your clothes. No drawers. The small fridge had seen much better days .the bathroom was like the 1950's.the shower is a hand held shower not attached to the wall.there is no facilties at all. Running it is a 80 year old rude man who's favourite thing is to shout. Avoid this place at all costs.

The hotel is very clean and In a brilliant location but I feel it is in need of updating. The air conditioning was 8 euros a night and to be honest was not fit for purpose. Night times were unbearable due to the heat in the room.

Quite a stressful place to stay.
Not good. I don't mind basic, but then there is old-fashioned and worn out. Threadbare towels, which got changed 3 times in two weeks. Door locks that didn't lock. Not even a kettle. The room floors don't always get cleaned, so the sand and dust soon build up.
The balcony, unfortunately, gives a view into the next-door apartment, so when you're in the room, you've got to keep the door shut for privacy. Dripping water from the air conditioning above goes onto the balcony below.
And can you remove the fact that it includes breakfast? No food is served anywhere in the place, and it doesn't have a lift, not that I needed one.
But the worst thing was that a small perfume bottle had been knocked off the shelf in the bathroom by the cleaner, and only the large piece was picked up; the rest was left on the floor. Only after seeing the broken piece on the shelf did I realise the rest was still on the floor. I had to use a wet towel to scan the whole floor to get the rest up. They hadn't even mopped the floor to clear the rest of the glass. We had both just showered, and how we never stood on the pieces is incredible.
The owners seem to do all the cleaning themselves, and it seems they've had enough, I think.

An experience to forget!
A deeply disappointing experience at Hotel Andavis
Waiting for a relaxing holiday on the island of Kos has turned into a source of considerable frustration due to our experience at Hotel Andavis. From the beginning, it was clear that the property does not meet minimum hospitality expectations.
The management of the hotel is entrusted to an elderly person, who has proved to be unfriendly and with considerable difficulty in communicating in English. This lack of professionalism immediately manifested itself, starting with the request for an extra charge of 8 euros per day for air conditioning, despite it being already included in the rate of our booking. This discrepancy between what has been promised and what has been requested is unacceptable.
Daily inefficiencies and inconveniences
The air conditioning system proved to be a further source of discomfort. To activate it you had to leave the key in the room, but as soon as you left the electricity was cut off. As a result, we returned to a very hot room, thwarting any attempt to cool it down in our absence. This forced us to stay in the room to benefit from the Service for which we had paid extra.
To make matters worse, there were frequent long-lasting blackouts. The absence of a contact person in these circumstances was total: the owner was often unavailable, especially at night, forcing us to call the number of the facility and wait for him to wake up to intervene. It is incomprehensible that a hotel does not have an adequate garrison or emergency system.
Poor services and below average standards
The problems are not limited to management and electricity. The cleanliness of the rooms was superficial and the change of towels practically non-existent, adding an additional element of neglect to the overall experience.
In summary, Hotel Andavis offers a Service well below current standards. The cost of 70 euros per day, without breakfast, plus extras not provided, is in no way justified by what the property offers. For anyone looking for a place to enjoy their holiday serenely, I highly recommend looking for alternatives.
