Staying In The Cadmea

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring Archaeological sites an museums in Greece. Compared to the other places we were in, it was a little more basic. However the room was comfortable and well set out and the staff were friendly and helpful. All making for a good stay. The archaeological elements of the city are all around the hotel and technically it sits within the bronze age citadel, The Cadmea, which was quite significant for us. The lady on reception, when she found out why we were there, offered some advice on the visible archaeological sites in the city and heartily recommended the local museum which turned out to be the best museum we visited besides the National Museums in Athens.

A charming hotel in the middle of Thiva

A charming hotel in the middle of Thiva. The rooms and bathrooms are large and clean. Unfortunately the bathtub had no shower curtain which meant that the floor was getting flooded when the shower was being used.
A couple of minutes walk to the square with the cafes and the restaurants and about ten minutes to the archaeological museum which is a must. Decent breakfast v

Great Experience

The management and staff were the kindest, most helpful people ever! They advised me on where to travel and let me use their kitchen for washing my stuff as well as their personal laundry. If you want to be taken care of at a reasonable price, this is the place for you!

Basic small town hotel

This was an older hotel and typical for the area. Except for the carpet, the room was clean. The carpet may have been clean but was so worn, it did not feel that way. They would do better to take out the carpet and just have tile or wood.
Bathroom was clean and had a shower stall. Lobby was nice and so was the breakfast area. Breakfast at this location not included but was the typical 5 Euro per person.
Price was good.

Great Staff at a Solid Place to Stay

Hotel options are limited in Thiva and this place is a good option, with an ideal location (although parking is a struggle) close to all the sights and the main square and the lobby area and overall look of the place is very good.
Rooms themselves are dated but that is reflected in the price and they have all the basic facilities you’d require.
The only real downside are the mattresses which are rock hard and made for a difficult nights sleep.
