Excellent hotel at more than reasonable price on Rishikesh

We stayed 2 nights in Rishikesh but could have stayed longer.
MANIK Guest House is perfectly located. The room was very clean and spacious. And what about the boss and the employees. They're in care. We had a problem with our train tickets, they handled everything for us and were great advice. Without commenting on their kindness and sincerity.
Excellent value for money when you see the exorbitant prices charged on Rishikesh...
Excellent restaurants/café are located nearby.
Possibility to do yoga classes at the hotel.
Ashram nearby & various classes (meditation - sound healing)

A helping hand amidst the scorching heat of Rishikeshi in May.

The stay was very good, the comfort of the facilities and good service with safe directions, the air-conditioned room was very comfortable with good quality television and internet and I was attended to with everything I requested. I recommend the stay and when I return to Rishikeshi on another occasion I should stay again

Like staying with friends

Manic's guest house is well located on a relatively quiet side street 100 metres up from the main road close to the centre of town. The rooms are airy and large with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. There's free WiFi and air conditioning with a generator to back it up when the local electricity supply cuts out - which happens quite a lot at peak times. Plus a roof terrace and a yoga room.
But what keeps me returning to Manic's is the relaxed friendliness of the staff. Naresh and Aayan who do everything they can to ensure guests are comfortable and feel at home. When I sprained my wrist on a mountain walk,Naresh rushed to get ice. When the local ATM was shut, Naresh took me put on his bike to get cash. Aaysn fixed my broken phone charger and told me where to get the coolest haircuts atonal prices. There were countless other little favours that these guys did for me - the kind of things that make you feel like a friend and not just a guest. At Manic's they want repeat customers and personal recommendations to friends - traditional Indian busuness enterprise at its best.
It's a shame there isn't a heated outdoor infinity pool or a ski lift up from Neem Beach . No helicopter pad for my millionaire Bollywood frends to drop by either - but hey, you can't have everything and for the modest prices charged the value for money is exceptional.

Horrendous experience

The room was also freezing cold and the light kept flickering. No towels, the bathroom smelt of vomit and had two used cigarettes on the corner. Faeces on the toilet seat. Definitely was not cleaned from the last guests to use it. We asked for toilet paper and waited over two hours ago and had to ask again and still did not get any and so we had to use the toilet at the yoga school. Same situation with getting the wifi password. The guy behind the desk had no manners and kept shooing us away. We did not stay the night and had to leave. Shocking. Worst experience we ever had.

Cheating

1. Agreed with 800 Rs per room per day, then demanded 1900 Rs per day per room while checking out.
2. 1900 Rs without tv, proper ventilation etc.
3. Does not provide bill.
4. No parking facility.
5. Rude behavior from staff.
