Comfortable place to stay, good location.

I was very satisfied with my staying there. Big room, big balcony with great mountain view, clean room, very friendly and cool staff, especially Manas&Ankur, who are very heplful with everything. The food is great and the prices are not so high, comparing to other guesthouses &restaurants in Rishikesh. What i liked the most is that the river Ganga with its white sand beaches are just near the TRIPTI Guesthose, and u can spend some magnificent peaceful moments there, doing meditation,
yoga or just chilling by the river.

lack of pride in hotel

Nice staff, but not too ambitious about providing a quality place to stay. when i checked in, the room sheets were clearly dirty (dirt, small food scraps on bed), their phone numbers listed on-line don't pick up ever, they keep giving the wrong wifi address... a bunch of relatively minor things that add up, show a lack of care to details that make a place worth staying.

Courteous staff, cheap and comfortable accommodation.

I stayed in the dorm for one day and one night. The dorm is very comfortable and the prices are cheap. The staff is very helpful. I accidentally left my driving licence there, they got it couriered to my home in Gujarat. The food in Karma cafe is great and is at reasonable prices. I'd recommend the place to anyone going to Rishikesh. :)

So cute and such friendly staff!

After spending way too long in Delhi, it was nice to go somewhere with a comfy and cute outdoor area to enjoy a chai and a meal. Also with a game that was enjoyed with the caretaker Mann Singh, who is extremely good! He is so lovely, friendly and accomodating. Our room was huge and everything was clean and comfortable.

Disappointed

I have travelled solo to many cities in India but never felt as let down by hotel staff as I did here. This place is a classic example of an how the level of respect and care shown by hotel staff falls after receiving consecutive good ratings on a travel site. The restaurant kitchen has only one cook and a helper ( who doubles as room caretaker/ waiter/receptionist) , so the service is terribly slow. The food was average. We were billed extra for food we had not even ordered for. When we brought it to the waiter's notice, he was unapologetic and instead made it sound like we were lying about not having eaten the extra order ! He did drop it after much convincing though. Still no apologies.
The hotel is bang on the highway, so lot of loud noises from trucks passing by early morning left us with sleepless nights.
Also the other issue I have is with the vents in the bathroom. They are totally uncovered , around 4 feet wide and a foot broad. Big enough for rats or monkeys to enter ( Rishikesh does have monkeys freely roaming in the streets) Infact the caretaker himself told us during a conversation that in one of the rooms a monkey entered the bathroom and ran away with a toothbrush! In some rooms the vents open into adjacent bathrooms. Thats pretty scary and could be embarrassing if the adjoining bath is being used by someone. These definitely raise safety concerns for me as a female traveller. But most importantly my opinion of the place is that the authorities need to learn to take responsibility of untoward incidents which happen on their premises and should learn to be more empathetic.
