Relaxed stay next to a big ricefield with big pool
The staff Wayan and Made a very friendly and helpful. The internet connection is super fast, I think it’s fiber. I could work with it the whole day.
Definitely recommended if you want some quietness outside of Ubud.

Overpriced, unpleasant owner
Additionally, I found the (overseas) owner weirdly prickly if I asked about anything, including things they actually advertise on their listing. For eg, they advertise their babysitter contacts, but when I enquired about this the owner quite rudely said she didn't know anyone. She then told me to be careful with my child around the pool, which I found odd and irrelevant.
A few other things:
- The entire property smells very strongly like cow pat, due to cows on the property or directly next to. It is fairly overpowering. Their Airbnb reviews attest to this.
- There is NO free shuttle into the centre, and no restaurant on site, unlike other villas. This means that a) you must get a taxi to find food, as the area is very remote, and b) you pay handsomely for it ($10 one-way!), adding significantly to the per-night cost.
- The on-site manager is only helpful when he's the one taxi-ing you to the centre, and being paid for it direct. Otherwise he says he has to ask the (overseas) owner about anything. Which, as mentioned, isn't such a nice option.
- The "Afternoon tea" advertised is literally 1 x cup of black tea. Other villas provide fruit, cakes, the option of coffee, etc.
- As soon as we checked in we were asked for a few more dollars for some local police office requirement, which is not usual practice. It felt very stingy, to be honest.
- Nature is not held back here! Meaning, you are literally brushing it out of your face as you walk around. Some people may like this aspect, and I for one LOVE being in nature, but even for me it was a bit much, mainly because of the huge number of insects around, including mosquitos. Soo many ants inside the room, too.
PROS:
- The village is nice and unspoiled. (However, there are some other villas that we checked out in the area, that are the same price and nicer, with a restaurant on-site.)
- One of the two main staffers was an absolute delight, we miss her lovely nature and sweetness with our toddler!
