Great Short Stay
The room was big with everything you needed. It had a double bed and 2 single beds.
The staff are very friendly and and helpful. Lovely food down in the bar area and breakfast was gorgeous served in the dining room on the 1st floor.
The manager checked us out himself and even gave my daughter (5yrs old) a farewell gift ❤️
Would definitely stay here again

A Great Stay Was Had By All
While checking in, the receptionist was extremely friendly and polite, making us feel welcome. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean; it had clearly been updated since our last stay years ago. Breakfast catered for all our needs and wishes, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was delicious! Downstairs the atmosphere in the bar/lounge was homely, once again the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We all had dinner the first night, it was delicious.
The view from the hotel over Killybegs harbour is a joy.
The nearby Fintra beach was a great day out for adults and kids alike and with Donegal town only 20 minutes away there was plenty to do.
The whole experience was enjoyable. Thank you to Seamus and his staff for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

Formal Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Service – Saturday, 16 May 2026
I am writing to formally register my strong dissatisfaction with the service my companion and I received at the Bayview Hotel on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at approximately 16:15.
While travelling through Killybegs following a funeral, we chose to stop at your hotel for lunch or an early dinner. Upon requesting a table for two in the bar area, we were informed by the barman that no food would be served until 7pm and that the bar area was effectively unavailable due to a wedding taking place upstairs. This explanation was not only unexpected but entirely unacceptable.
I am well acquainted with your upstairs function facilities, having attended weddings and, most recently, a 60th birthday celebration last year. At no point in previous visits has an event upstairs resulted in the bar being closed to regular guests or food service being suspended for several hours. The notion that an upstairs wedding should override the needs of all other patrons demonstrates a disregard for standard hospitality practice and raises serious concerns about the management of concurrent events within your establishment.
In addition, I had intended to make a booking for a party of 11 for lunch on Sunday, 12 July, prior to a concert in Bruckless. Following the manner in which we were dismissed, I have withdrawn that intention. The Tara Hotel, by contrast, welcomed us with professionalism and courtesy, provided an excellent meal, and has now secured our July booking.
The experience at the Bayview fell significantly below the standard that any guest should reasonably expect, and far below the standard that the hotel has previously demonstrated. I trust that this matter will be reviewed with the seriousness it warrants, as the handling of guests on this occasion was wholly unsatisfactory.
I look forward to receiving an acknowledgment of this complaint and clarification as to how such an incident will be prevented in future.
