A hotel well positioned to visit Iya Valley’s places of interests like the vines bridges (single and double ones), the River Cruise, The Koboke Observation deck and the small peeing monk, etc… There are also many good local F&B.
The Kaiseki is good and the morning breakfast is local and fresh.
The Onsen is also functional and has both the indoor and outdoor hot pools.

The dinner and breakfast were wonderful. Having an outdoor onsen overlooking the mountains and river valley was a once in a lifetime experience.

View of the mountain was great. The outdoor bath was nice.
However I felt like the dinner and breakfast halls had rather harsh lighting. Also the room with the bath felt rather expensive considering the experience.
If the dinner and breakfast hall could be a bit more cozy and relaxing I think it would go a long way.

It was a scenic place with its calm and soothing sound of water. The breakfast was good. Could add choices of ready to make eggs counter.

Clean and spacious room. Nice view. Onsen a highlight. Lots of options for breakfast. Presentation of dinner was excellent/beautiful, however the fish was dry and the rice was at times mushy. My only real criticism was the unavoidable smell of cigarette smoke.
