In the center of nowhere

Place with the past, but what about a future? Sense of locating this hotel in Odzienas came from a chance to visit a palace - but palace is ruined and chances to rebuild it are small. Brewery is close and the only attraction is small shop - not enough.

Tastely renovated place to stay

Historical country-pub, renovated to stylish guesthouse. Tasty interiors, well selected antique furniture. Perfectly attentive and communicative staff. Just next to the main road, parking lot in the yard behind the main building. One can have a decent breakfast for 5€. Nice small and clean village shop next house were you can have coffee and fresh bakery. And, of course, local (I mean Odzienas, sic!) beer, berry-wine and cider. Well, just half an hour drive, or little more, several skiing (both cross-country and downhill) tracks are available, still in use now in mid-March!

Great place for a weekend stay

We really enjoyed the stay, the design, attitude and food. Nice hosts and good attitude, only beds a bit short. :) You can also visit local beer brewery as well as local castle - still not fully reconstructed, but nice historical architecture.

Great palce to stay

We had a couple of nights here and could have usefully stayed a bit longer, as it is a good base to explore up country. Food was simple but excellent. Steve is a very genial and helpful host. It is not far off the main road at Plavinas. There is a small shop next to the hotel which is useful for stocking up on beers etc

Perfect place to rest

Really nice and interesting place to visit and where to stay over night..
There are partially ruined castle near this hotel - you can see, that it was impressive before.. actually - it still is impressive despite it is partially ruined..
Hotel room was just beautiful, furniture there was appropriate the castle of its golden age, I guess - in fact, room was like a museum.. Only difference - you feel comfortable there!
And hotel staff - they are just perfect and welcoming!!! You can also taste the local beer (Odzienas muižas beer) there - you just have to taste it!! (and you will come here more and more). Hotels administrator told us the history of the castle. We also took an excursion to the brewery (also next the hotel).
I really recommend everyone to stay there, if you visit Latvia, Pļaviņu novads. :)
