Hidden Paradise
A short weekend escape brought us into what truly feels like a hidden paradise. The property is beautifully set with an atmosphere of deep peace and tranquility. It blends a refined boho chic natural aesthetic with the comfort and luxury of a high-end all-inclusive resort.
The cabins are spacious, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The bathrooms and showers are perfect after a dip in the lagoon, whether you want to cool off or warm up. The water pressure and hot water are better than what you’ll find in most cities. And the beds feel like clouds. You fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to birds singing. It’s something special.
The food is easily 5-star quality. Every meal felt intentional and beautifully prepared, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. From vibrant juices to expertly crafted local cocktails, everything exceeded expectations.
What really elevated the experience was the ambiance created by the staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making us feel comfortable and welcomed. That level of presence is rare.
The activities like yoga, temazcal, and evening fire gatherings turned the stay into a full retreat experience. We left feeling recharged, grounded, and peaceful, and honestly not ready to leave.
This is the kind of experience people hope for but rarely find.
5 stars across the board. We will absolutely be back.

The price is not according to the quality or security of the place.
Total disappointment. I don't recommend it.
We booked at the Hotel Embassy Universal by Eufemia Group in the hope of having a quiet family vacation on the shores of the lagoon. We knew it was a cottage style, but honestly, the facilities are in very poor condition. It is rating that it has not received adequate maintenance in a long time.
From the first moment we got the impression that it was an unsafe place. There were parts so worn we were afraid to step and fall. Despite our initial disappointment, we wanted to give it a try and went to the restaurant. To our surprise, the prices had no relation to the Quality or Mood of the place.
In the end, we decided it wasn’t worth risking and chose to lose the reservation to find another hotel. It is a pity, because the location is beautiful, but the facilities are so neglected that they do not justify the price. The value for money is not as expected and, as the photos show, the place is not well maintained.
I cannot recommend this hotel for a family trip, especially if you are looking for a minimum of comfort and security.

Embajada Universal is not a hotel, it’s an experience. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you’ve discovered a secret that most travelers haven’t found yet. The cabins are beautifully designed, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature — you wake up with birds, breeze, and the calm energy of Bacalar.
The food was outstanding: simple, nourishing, and clearly made with intention. The restaurant alone is worth the visit. Every detail feels thoughtful, from the layout of the property to the way the staff genuinely cares about your stay.
If you’re looking for loud luxury, this is not it. If you’re looking for authentic, soulful, grounded luxury, this place is magic. We extended our stay and would come back without hesitation.

Place smell sewer…way to rustic, swimming pool needs to upgrade, they advertised shuttle but there is no, when rains nobody can acess the hotel….we booked for 3 nights but could stand just one night.

This is the perfect stay for a secluded getaway. It was peaceful, relaxing with a scenic background. Nestled right in the middle of the jungle,the lagoon is refreshing. The food was delicious and very natural. They had a variety of options including vegan options. The staff was very friendly and helpful which added to the relaxing atmosphere. This is definetly the place to go to get away from everything and enjoy a stress free vacation.
