Beautiful design, great location - with a few things to be aware of
I want to address a couple of the common negative points. Yes, there is some noise, but this is to be expected. You are in one of the busiest parts of Roma Norte. I was staying above the bar on a Sunday night and it was absolutely fine. If you are looking for complete peace and quiet, this probably isn’t the right area in general.
I did have a small issue with the hot water, but the staff handled it quickly and professionally. All the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout my stay, including the security guard, which made a difference.
There is no traditional breakfast offering, which is worth knowing in advance. That said, it’s not really a drawback given the location. You are surrounded by excellent options, and there’s a Joe & The Juice right next door for coffee and a quick breakfast.
The standout for me was the restaurant. Lunch was exceptional - the food was spectacular, the service excellent, and the chef even came out to greet us. Special mention to Fernando, who made one of the best guacamoles I’ve had. Also nearby is Tacos del Valle, which is well worth a visit.
Overall, I would recommend Casa Almamía if you want to stay in a lively, central area with great food and atmosphere. You may need to accept some trade-offs on noise and breakfast, but that comes with the location.
I enjoyed it enough that I’m actually staying there again this week.

Incredible Staff and Quality Room
The location is great and very centralized. It was a bit hot in the room and dark, but not unbearably so.
It could be because we were tired, but the street noise was hardly noticeable. It was also a Wednesday night so that may have something to do with it. Either way the hotel provided complimentary ear plugs in case we need them.
Overall an incredible experience and we'd gladly stay there again.
