The property is meticulously restored and gives you a glimt into old Norway. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Unique place. Like staying in a museum, especially if the owner has time to show you the whole property, where you can find museum pieces ranging from Viking swords to 1600s paintings to Japanese ceramics. Centrally located, within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

The nicest place in the world

The autumn storm came over Skagerrak and the colorline was cancelled... What do you do - find a hotel…. Skandic was fully booked and other options had to be looked at...
Lysko gestgaard became the venue, which turned out to be a real gem and surprise.
The place is super cozy and you can feel that there is soul and warmth here!
The rooms are beautiful, and executed with historical precision, and even Christian the 4th would be satisfied with a night in the four-poster bed.
The host couple are helpful and offered that we could stay until the ferry left at 17:30 the next day..
5 stars from here - and consider an overnight stay here
Especially if you are not into sterile designer furniture and solitude ;-)

Love this place!

If you are like me; interested in history, love unique places and want personal meetings, this is the place. The welcome and omvisninigen srpr to 10, the history of the restoration is priceless as well as the collections of antiques. I'm simply going to eat myself "to death" and go back

Wonderful hospitality and a fantastic taste of Norwegian culture.

Beautiful room full of Norwegian artefacts. Ronny the owner gave us a tour of the hotel and the history of the building and the furniture. It was a fantastic taste of Norwegian culture. The hotel is right next to the park on the seafront with great walks and the Thor Heyerdahl statue – he was my grandmothers cousin and was born in Larvik.
