Affordable option

This is a great option, close to the penguin viewing center and only a few steps from the beautiful historic center. It is relatively simple but clean. To check in guests need a code. I did not get it, and had to call a service number. Not great. I recommend emailing them a few days before arrival.

Good hostel. Reasonable price and well equipped facilities. I would stay here if I come Oamaru again.
One bad thing. There is no front desk. So guests always have to be aware of PIN that lets you get inside (even their room). So I had to bring my mobile even when I went to the toilet. If I had forgotten my room PIN, I couldn't open the door of my room.

Lovely, homely accommodation

Really homely accommodation with comfortable bedrooms and lovely shared spaces. The massage chair was a highlight. The kitchen had plenty of shared things for breakfast. The location was great with views of the sea and was close to town and the penguin colony. Parking on the street was easy.
And a massive thank you to Karrie who was so helpful when I left something important behind - she posted it onto a later accommodation. Thank you!
