Exceptional Comfort and Kindness

"Stations Inn is a gem. My room was spotless and felt so inviting with its soft, relaxing colors and comfortable furnishings. I particularly loved the heated bathroom floors—a small luxury that makes a world of difference! Whether you're relaxing on the sofa or working at the multi-purpose table, the space feels thoughtfully designed for every need. The hosts are some of the nicest people I’ve encountered in my travels; they truly go out of their way to ensure their guests are well taken care of. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hokitika."

Recommended

Lovely position, with plenty of peace and quiet. The units are spotlessly clean and really big. Lovely patio for an evening drink, sadly the restaurant wasn’t open for our stay, but it didn’t take away from our experience.

Great value but at what cost?

Value is a personal matter, as is expectation. In most areas Station Inn is good to very good. The units are of a good size, well presented, clean and well maintained. Fixtures and fittings are modern and of good quality. Tea & coffee is provided along with a bottle of fresh milk. So far, really good. But: in the kitchen area there is only a microwave - no hob. And there are no cooking utensils. No containers, no pans, no cooking tools. To me the message is “don’t cook your own meals, use our restaurant instead.” Again, to me, this is passive aggressive and not at all what I want from a motel, no matter how boutique. I also found the welcome to be missing. No one to welcome you on arrival, just a message posted on the door. I want to stress that this is my expectation and others may have a different one. Would I use Station inn again? Yes I would. It is excellent value for money and I would be willing to trade that for the lack of personal touch and absence of cooking facilities. You wil have to make your own decision.

Perfectly boutique, just out of town

Our room was quiet, perfectly appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cleanliness was exemplary and the bed was super comfy. The view from the room across the llamas in the field to the distant ocean was lovely to wake up to. We didn't try the on-site restaurant but it's really well reviewed. We were so happy to stay here and will definitely book again when we are next in Hokitika.

Great meal

Had a great evening meal here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Place is immaculately kept with great attention to detail. Food was beautifully cooked and good sized portions. Very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.
