Luxe at a great price point

Such a luxe experience at a really decent price, we booked direct with the hotel and they upgraded us to a wonderful room, complete with a big claw bath in the bedroom. Everything was thought of, great lighting, huge comfy bed, great shower and too many extras to name.... it was probably the best stay we had in our entire 2 month trip. Special mention to the lovely man on reception who upgraded us, so appreciated after a full day of driving, would book again in a heartbeat.

Exceptional service. Truly above & beyond!

We arrived to find that booking.com cancelled our reservation without a reason & without any contact from them to inform us. The receptionist explained that, unfortunately, it isn’t the first time they’ve had such a situation with booking.com & she immediately rang them to try & get some answers & started making enquiries to see if there was any accommodation available at their sister hotel, the Alma. As we were tired & hungry after a long day, we asked if we could get food in their pub whilst she did so. Whilst waiting for our food, we looked for alternative accommodation, of which there was unsurprisingly very little, with it being about 20:30 on a bank holiday Saturday. Fortunately, the receptionist came & found us to tell us that she managed to get us the last room at their sister hotel & were willing to price match our original booking as a gesture of good will. They even gave us free breakfast for the inconvenience, despite it not being their fault. The staff went above & beyond & were incredibly empathic, professional & helpful. They took what could’ve been a bad situation & found the best solution possible, rather than pointing fingers, which many would have. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the receptionists name but she is a credit to the business. It’s no exaggeration to say that you wouldn’t get this at most establishments & I couldn’t have been more impressed.

Great pub for a Special Event

We held a 90th Birthday Party in the Spread Eagle and it was a great evening in a beautiful, atmospheric pub. The staff were so accommodating. From discussing choices for buffet to room allocations to helping with room layout and our music. Fantastic! We all had a special evening and I can highly recommend the pub, the hotel rooms and the front/function room. Thanks so much and see you again soon!

A lovely and welcoming, well-presented establishment.

A great place to stay with good access to public transport on the doorstep with the closest underground station being, East Putney around a 15 minute walk. We stayed at the Spread Eagle for business which far exceeded our expectations after initially being sceptical about booking pub room accommodation.
We received a friendly welcome at reception and a friendly service in the pub bar throughout the duration. We booked a boutique room which was a double room comprising of a bathroom with a walk-in shower, decorated and presented to a high standard. A large and comfortable pub with great food and menu choices. You have a choice of entering via the quieter separate reception entrance, or via the pub bar area itself. We highly recommend staying at this great establishment, which would put many top hotels to shame. We will definitely be returning!
